Join us for a creative, educational, and FREE program at The Wright where we will celebrate the life and legacies of Detroit's most prominent music producers. Artists of all kinds and ages are welcome to participate in a positive experience alongside some of Detroit's most influential music engineers.

Schedule of events:

Panel Discussion GM Theater 3-4:30pm Panelists will engage in discussions revolved around the Detroit "sound", the evolution of technology in music, the impact of Detroit production on our community, and other aspects of music engineering.

Open Mic Competition GM Theater 5:30-7pm Enjoy or participate in an open mic competition! Must be 14 years or older and send a snippet (MP3, Youtube video, Word document) of their performance to edowden@chwmuseum.org by the end of the day on Wednesday, January 29th. Must pay $5 on the day of event to enter.

Workshops: Graffiti Workshop Young people can learn the background and importance of the art of graffiti and design their own pieces with help from local artists

Album Art Workshop Youth can explore various album artworks from local artists and create their own album art.

Drum Circle Workshop ANYONE can participate in this exciting and energetic workshop using basic household items. This workshop will collaborate people of all kinds into exploring different sounds and beats together.

Turn Tables Workshop Learn how to spin! Local artists will teach participants how to use turn tables and help existing DJ's perfect their craft.This workshop is designed for anyone 14+.

Music Production Workshop Learn first-hand how to use various programs, machines, and other devices from professional artists in Detroit.
